After good performance in worldcup 2002 infront of home crowd, all asian eyes are looking for another good performance from asaian gaint South Korea.World Cup fever really hit home for the South Koreans when they co-hosted with Japan in 2002. Reaching a semi-final and finishing fourth helped. This year, a repeat will do just as well but some dare to dream of more.
South korea came much under light after thier semi final ride and many of thier players are much experieced now.
How ever because of some dismaying performance in the world cup qualifiers ,people have serious doubt about performace of korea in germany 2006.They lack motivational factor like Dutch coach Guus Hiddink who led them defeat four european gaints in Wc 2002.

Outlook :
The South Koreans would like to continue where they left off in 2002. On their home turf four years ago, the team under trainer Guus Hiddink sparked a true soccer euphoria and was only stopped in the semi-finals by Germany. Realistically, Hiddink's successor Dick Advocaat will have a hard time repeating that success.

Some facts and recent developments:
Korea is asia's most sucessful team reaching semi final in world cup 2002.
They travel to Germany for their sixth successive finals appearance in World Cup.
Coach:
Dick Advocaat
South Korea is Asia's most successful team at soccer World Cups. It has qualified seven times already. Despite the successful qualification for 2006, trainer Jo Bonfrere surprisingly stepped down due to strong criticism of the team's performance. His successor is his Dutch countryman Dick Advocaat.
