Where do I stay during my trek? Do I camp or do I stay in a lodge or hotel ?

The answer to this question can be based upon where you go for trekking. You will find mostly accommodation like hotels and or guesthouses in all major trekking routes with out any hassle at cheap rates. If your hiking trail leads in to a jungle or in to the mountains most likely you have to camp and carry a tent or bivy-sack along.

However there are trekkers and hikers who find an eco-lodge best alternative as base-camp.
Even the people are travelers friendly and can stay at house of the people at route.

Things to remember before you begin
It is desirable that you are in sound health condition as many of the Himalayas are more than 8000 meters high which can cause problem relating to altitude. You can also arrange for health insurance which can makes things easier (if required).

Plan your trekking carefully based on the weather
December to February-Little snow below 3500, cloudy
March to May - excellent with mild temperatures
June to August- monsoon season, good for people escaping cold weather but dangerous trekking

September to November, weather and visibility are good.

Plan things first
Before you begin your journey plan every thing, how much dependent you will be on local agents. You can either leave all to travel agents to arrange things for you though email or arrive in Nepal or find local agencies or guide
But planning ahead can save you lots time, cost and effort.

There are many travel agencies in Nepal. Make sure you get one and get best one based on other trekkers or recommendations. Make sure that there are no hidden costs in any packages offered by them.

Keep provision of some extra fund. Trekking in Nepal is cheap but occasional weather and political problem can create some problems. So make sure that you keep provision of some extra fund for this moment. Enquire your agent about it.
